Our volunteers are vital in our mission to empower women through safe housing and specialist support, helping us to deliver crucial work to vulnerable women and their families.
Our amazing volunteers provide us with their time, passion and energy, helping us to continue supporting vulnerable women. We help volunteers meet new people and develop skills and experience of working in a professional context.
During the last 12 months, we have recruited 33 new volunteers.
In total, volunteers have contributed 3,048 hours of hard work, effort, support and dedication.
Volunteering can be a stepping stone for gaining access to paid employment. We have helped and encouraged our volunteers to apply for jobs both within Housing for Women and external to our organisation. 26% of all departed volunteers left their role because they gained paid employment.
By volunteering with Housing for Women, you can have a direct positive impact on the lives of vulnerable women and children while gaining new skills and enhancing your CV. Volunteering is a great way to kick-start your career and increase your confidence in a supportive environment.
Our volunteers make an enormous contribution to our services by building bridges with our tenants and service users or supporting core operations at our Head Office. In return we offer volunteers meaningful roles with regular supervision and training opportunities that have a real impact on women's lives.
