Housing for Women wants all our tenants to live comfortably and safely in the properties we provide for them. To achieve this, we take great pride in providing the best maintenance and repairs we possibly can. This means investing in new technologies and structures to predict, prevent and respond to any issues that could stop our operations from being as smooth and successful as possible. In 2016 we:
completed 3,476 responsive repairs
invested £37k installing 13 new boilers
started 2 programmes of major repairs including new roofs, replacement doors and windows to a number of street properties in Southall, Ealing, Kensington and the replacement of a defective roof and balconies at a block of 40 flats in New Cross.
A Stock Condition Survey was undertaken in February and March 2016 with close to 100% of external and 30% of internal properties surveyed. The purpose of the survey has been to identify the main components and plan for their replacement according to their expected life cycle. The survey tells us the level of investment needed over the next 30 years to maintain our homes in good condition.
