Anniversary quilt to celebrate 85 years

Anniversary quilt to celebrate 85 years

Published 14 July 2022

During lockdown we made a quilt to celebrate Housing for Women's 85th anniversary. It was made by 67 women from several Quilters Guild groups who were mainly based in South London. Every quilt tells a story, either of people’s own experience of lockdown or their message to the women we support. We hope this one will be a reminder that through the power of stitching we can help to better the lives of women. The quilt consists of 85 blocks surrounded by two borders, and as it was made during lockdown it consists of the material people already had in their homes.

Our quilt will be displayed at the event which we are trying to raise funds for.
