Counting Down to International Women’s Day!
Imagine a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world where diversity is valued, and gender equality is the norm. Together, we can create a world where women’s rights are fully respected.
On Saturday, 8 March 2025, people around the world will celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD), a global event that has been advocating for women’s rights and equality for over 100 years.
Since its first celebration in 1911, IWD has been a movement that belongs to anyone committed to advancing gender equality.
This year’s theme, ‘Accelerate Action,’ calls for faster progress towards gender equality. The World Economic Forum estimates it could take until 2158 – almost five generations from now – to achieve full gender equality at the current rate of change.
By focusing on ‘Accelerate Action,’ we can:
• Raise awareness of the barriers and biases women still face.
• Take action to address these inequalities.
• Celebrate the achievements of women everywhere.
Housing for Women: Empowering Women Since 1934
